About the Editors

Robin Kar is Professor of Law & Philosophy at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where he is also currently Interim Head of the Department of Philosophy.  He has served as President of the Academic Senate and University Senates Conference (at the system level) and is current President of the local AAUP Chapter. He works primarily in the philosophy of law, philosophy of contracts, meta-ethics, and moral psychology.

Christopher A. Pynes is Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Mathematics and Philosophy at Western Illinois University where his primary duties are to teach undergraduate philosophy courses in logic, ethics, and philosophy of science. He has served the philosophical community as an elected member of the APA’s Committee on the Status and Future of the Profession and as the President of the Illinois Philosophical Association.

 

Founding Editor

Brian Leiter is Karl N. Llewellyn Professor of Jurisprudence and Director of the new Center for Law, Philosophy, and Human Values at the University of Chicago. He teaches and writes in the areas of moral, political and legal philosophy, the law of evidence, and 19th- and 20th-century Continental philosophy, with particular interests in Marx, Nietzsche, Freud, and Foucault. He is the author of Nietzsche on Morality (London: Routledge, 2002; 2nd edition, 2015), Naturalizing Jurisprudence: Essays on American Legal Realism and Naturalism in Legal Philosophy (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2007), and Why Tolerate Religion? (Princeton University Press, forthcoming); and editor or co-editor of many other books, including The Oxford Handbook of Continental Philosophy (2007) and The Future for Philosophy (Oxford: Clarendon Press, 2004). He is founder and co-editor (with Leslie Green) of Oxford Studies in the Philosophy of Law. He is also editor of the Routledge Philosophers book series.
